Project Acai (Singapore)
Why I like it: Supposedly Healthy Food, Quick Service with Take Away Option
To be honest, up until I know I haven’t understood why everyone on Instagram is raving about Acai Bowls. So recently I got a sudden health graving and so I googled possible Acai Bowl Shops in Singapore. I soon stumbled upon Project Acai in Holland Village (they also seem to have one in Takashimaya Mall but this one I haven’t visited).
Starting at 11 am, a pretty long queue will be forming up in the shop itself which has the current sleek, urban and modern touch and feel.
All Acai Bowls are made from scratch – meaning the bowls are not pre-made and then served but decorated. So you will meet a very nice lady who prepares and cuts fruits for the bowls with breathtaking speed. Respect. The Acai Mousse itself is obviously prepared as it has been chilled like a sorbet.
So the Acai fruit grows mainly in South America and is a very small and dark fruit which is pressed so it becomes a very smooth mousse texture. I feel it has a very strong chocolate taste and I guess that makes it so attractive for lots of the healthy ladies out there.
Well so honestly, the mousse comes iced in a small bowl topped with fresh fruits, the usual spin of Chia Seeds and some Nuts. Thats more less it. The whole mix is actually quite nice and I could imagine eating it once in a while instead of my yoghurt or cereal.
The shop Project Acai also offers to buy the Acai Berry Mousse already pre-packaged to take home for the addicts.
A nice Saturday morning adventure (starting at 11 am) but not necessarily for a brunch or breakfast like event with the hubby.
