Bad Ass Salmon Bagels
Somehow Bagels make me feel doing something special and in most of the cases I really make an effort to put something extraordinary on top of my Bagel. For whatever reason it is, Bagels create a more international vibe than a regular piece of bread.
So last time I went to the supermarket I stumbled upon this beautiful Bagel and as I was being a grass widow * I decided to give it a shot.
You can eat Bagels any time of the day depending on what you put on it and I will try to give you further ideas by putting them on this thread.
To make things simple I start with a classic Salmon Version.
- Sesame Bagel
- Cream Cheese
- Smoked Salmon
- Rocket (or any kind of salad)
- Some finely sliced onion
- Horseradish Cream or freshly grinded (replace by Mustard if you like)
- A nice a fresh fried egg
So this is as well already almost the recipe.
Make sure you toast your Bagel and fry the egg in the meantime in a small pan. I am taking quite a lot of cream cheese and salmon as I love the combination but feel free to vary your choices. The combination with Horseradish is a very classic one and always works.
Due to my affection with Mustard I also love to add this instead of the Horseradish. I actually had to search quite a bit on finding fresh Horseradish in Singapore but I was very successful with Mr. Chia in Tekka Wet Market. A lot of people never seen a fresh root of Horseradish but it has the best and most intense taste.
Allright, that’s it already. I will keep you posted with many more Bad Ass Bagel ideas.
*Grass Widow – if this is not known in all English dialect refers to a woman whose husband or partner is temporarily absent e.g. because he is travelling or on an infamous mens evening.
